New Year's Resoultions

So we are a week into the New Year and I am finally sitting down to type my resolutions, in an effort to make them stick.

First of all, I resolved to park as far away from the store as possible. When it is below freezing (as it has been most of the time this week) or cold and rainy, I give myself (and Little Miss Never Button Her Coat) a break. Exercise is good for the body and mind and I have tried promising myself to work out to videos, join a gym, et. cetera, always to no avail. So maybe I can stick to this. Baby Steps, y'know. And Target has a HUGE parking lot!

Second, I resolve to knit myself a sweater. I also sub-resolve not to make it out of the cheapest possible yarn I can find. I found a super great FairIsle sweater at Goodwill last month, and every time I put it on it makes me happy, it's kinda like a magic item that way... Don the Sweater and your health meter refills! So if I make myself an awesome sweater, not only will the knitting give me something good to do, but the wearing will be good too.

I think I am going to need help with my third resolution... I want to laugh more. I know laughter is good for health too, but I just don't find myself doing it all that much. I laughed a lot at our New Year's Eve party, but I think that was just because I was tipsy. Delia says I don't have a sense of humor, but I know that I do, it's just buried under meters and meters of stress. What makes you (my readers) laugh? What funny books or TV shows do you recommend? (Do not say Seinfeld - I HATE that show, and anything based on uncomfortable-situations-are-funny. And you have to be able to rent it on netflix or watch it on Fancast 'cause I refuse to rearrange my life so I can sit in front of the TV at an appointed time... Maybe I should just stick to funny books?)

Hope y'all are having a great New Year so far!

I laughed out loud at Bill Bryson's book, A Walk in the Woods.
Ed read it out loud to me in our tent when we were backpacking in the Sierras, but I don't think you have to be in that great environment to love this book.
