THe Warmest Hat in the World

I started this hat last year sometime, and only dug it out to finish yesterday. It is based on this pattern from Knitty, but I used two strands of wool and a larger needle. The light colored yarn was in the basket of good stuff Keith gave me for Xmas last year, and the grey is the stuff Emma brought me back from Ireland (12 years ago!).
I intended to felt the hat, but it was pretty cool looking, even though it is GIGANTIC. It will even fit my sister's giant melon.

HEY! I resemble that remark! And between my head and John's HUGE cranium.... this kid will need CUSTOM sunglasses, bike helmets.. let alone the horrors to come if she ends up in the marching band!!! Maybe she'll play the tuba and get to wear a tam!?! (eh...or NOT!)

I think it looks very cozy. I think I will buy some yarn and mail it to you. The girls could use some super cute custom hats. I include myself in that. :)
