Happy Anniversary to this guy. This is the guy who asked me to marry him in the most beautiful outdoorsy place he knew, even though he wasn't an outdoorsman then. This is the guy who sat next to me in Burger King 12 years ago while I fretted about what a pain in the ass a wedding was going to be, and suggested we just take off and get married. This guy agreed, of his own free will, to embark on this lifetime adventure with me. This is the guy who survived childbirth (and childrearing) with me, and didn't ever look away, even though a lot of it was gross and ugly. By miracle or magic, he's still here, and I am thankful, and blessed.
I love this guy so much I can't put it into words, but I have to try every day. The Tracy who you all know would not be here today without this guy. We have grown up alongside each other, each of us shaping the other with encouragement and love. I can't imagine a world where I don't wake up next to this guy every day. The first 20 years of my life are a blur, I often feel like my Real Life started when he and I decided to do this together.
Here's a cheesy pop song for my Husband that says it pretty well. Even though we're thirtysomething and the parents of a grade schooler, he still makes me feel like a kid crushing on her first love. Every Day.
