Garden Goodness

Our broccoli grew, almost overnight, into bunches of tasty goodness!
Always ready with a sharp pocketknife, Keith harvests our first broccoli crown of the season.
The banana pepper plant we bought at Aldis is verily bursting with peppers. Anybody want some? SERIOUSLY! They aren't particularly hot, but they are delightful.
Our garden bounty turned into supper. One homemade whole wheat pizza crust brushed with garlic oil and topped with asparagus, tomatoes, onions and mozzarella (from the grocer) and home grown peppers and broccoli.

That looks absolutely fantastic. I'm having food/garden/whole wheat bread envy!

Dear Edgehill House:

Long time reader, first time commentor.

Thanks for showing the broccoli! My wife and I have tried our hand at gardening for the first time and planted broccoli, tomatoes and squash. But we don't know what the hell thay are supposed to look like when they are done (I know, I know--get a gardening book. Well we have one but it assumes that we know much more than we do).

Anyway, good going on the garden!

Hi Dave!
Glad we can send some Morgantown goodness to you out in the Midwest.

As for the broccoli, I was rather surprised at how small the crowns actually were. Probably because we planted them so close together, they never got bigger than three inches across. Now they're all but done for, the ones we didn't pick last week are turning into yellow flowers now.

Good luck with your gardening!
